ANOTHER FEATHER IN THE CAP OF BIHAR

FAMILY SCHOOL: To creat awareness about the women’s rights and to check the crime against and exploitation of the fairer sex theNitish government has planned to open Parivarik Vidyalaya (Family Schools) in the Bihar. Counselling sessions would be organized in the Family Counselling Centre at the panchayat level.
Vijay Prakash, welfare secretary said initially Anganwadi centres would work as counselling centres. In this respect a discussion was held in Patna recently. NGOs working for the women’s rights and officials of the Women Development Corporation attended it. It was hoped that the counselling sessions would help to solve the problem of the mistreatment of women from the source. Women Helpline is already working to sort out the problems related to women.
Let see how it is going to change the attitude of men & family in bihar towards its women and literacy rate of bihari, both men & women specially girl child.

the step seems to be good one. but the effectiveness of such step is always a point of discussion. This step has very limited impact and reach. if i have to suggets one major change in Bihar then i would prefer strong stress on education. Bihar government should largely and strategically focus on the root cause of problem. anyways Nitish government is doing good job.
